Bio

Following the old musician’s adage, Don’t give up your day  job, I’ve  been making music in Vermont since 1977 while also working as a teacher, woodcutter & buildings and grounds keeper.  Playing guitar and fiddle, I draw inspiration from a wide variety of  genres performing traditional, contemporary and original music.  I’ve  been  a longtime member of The Saltash Serenaders as well as  a charter member of  The Turkey Mountain Window Smashers, The Muddy Rhodes Blues Band and The Salt River Revue. This has enabled me to  play for numerous concerts, contra dances and celebrations throughout Vermont. These include appearances at The Champlain Folk Fest, benefit concerts for Senator Bernie Sanders as well as performances on Vermont Public Radio and Vermont Public Television.  Along with this ensemble work, I perform in duos with friends and family members. Always up for a gig,  I frequently play out in solo settings.  This work takes me to farmers’ markets, coffee houses  and artist-in-residence gigs (Vt folk music, contra dance) in schools around the state. I’ve also worked  with The  Vermont Actors’ Repertory Theater as composer, arranger and performer for “Vermont Artists…In Play.”     Check out the sampler and drop me a line.
